In recent weeks the federal government has tabled new legislation for euthanasia. They plan to remove the "reasonably foreseeable death" criteria. Doing so would impact the most vulnerable in our society. Disability activists are speaking out fiercely against this change because that criterion protects persons with disabilities from euthanasia. The Coalition for HealthCARE and Conscience are inviting their brothers and sisters in the faith to have their voice heard by taking part in a letter-writing campaign to their MPs.
Postcards for this campaign are available and can be distributed to parishes upon request. You can also go to https://www.canadiansforconscience.ca/ to learn how you can speak out for the vulnerable.
