COMPASSION

Home Communion

Our Home Communion program brings the Eucharist to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass in person. Volunteers offer spiritual nourishment and a caring connection to our faith community, helping everyone stay connected to the sacraments.

Every Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, 12 Baskets offers free, nourishing meals to anyone in need at our parish hall. This program, supported by dedicated volunteers, aims to provide both a meal and a warm welcome to our community. Join us and experience the spirit of generosity and care.

Our Funeral Ministry offers compassionate support to families during times of loss. Dedicated volunteers help with funeral preparations and guide families with care and respect, ensuring each service is a dignified and comforting experience.

Our parish offers dedicated support for immigrants, providing essential resources and assistance to help them navigate their new environment. Through various programs and community connections, we aim to ease their transition and promote a welcoming atmosphere. Join us in fostering a supportive and inclusive community for all.

Stella Maris Parish supports four emergency shelters behind our church, providing vital care through dedicated volunteers. Each week, these volunteers coordinate and deliver homemade meals five days a week to those in need. Our ministry is committed to offering both nourishment and compassion to individuals in our community.

Our parish gratefully supports the community food bank operated by St. Paul's United Church, 173 Old Sambro Road. We are honoured to partner with St. Paul's to support those in need. We provide essential groceries and pantry items to local individuals and families, fostering a spirit of generosity and support within our community.

Our parish prayer ministry is committed to nurturing a spirit of prayerful intercession and reflection. We come together to offer prayers for the needs of individuals, our parish, and the broader community.

Our parish's Christmas Care Ministry spreads holiday cheer by providing essential items to those in need during the Christmas season. Through generous donations and dedicated volunteers, we ensure that everyone in our community can experience the joy and warmth of the holiday. Join us in making this festive season brighter for our neighbors in need.
